Kanehiro is Akamatsu Ichimon’s sword master, one of the most prestigious swordsmith families today in Japan.  They are still very strict about the traditional method, starting with producing “jewel steel” (tamahagane) out of iron sands that they collect themselves.  This sword is their work of art, presenting a fortitudinous blade from Nanbokucho period, with its hamon wildly completed choshi-midare.
